Equine Canada Officials Meet On PEI
The Provinces Council Executive Directors of Equine Canada from across Canada recently held meetings on PEI. The meetings were hosted by Island Horse Council and Joy MacDonald, PEI's Equine Canada Rep.
The two day meetings held discussions on a variety of topics pertinent to the operation of horse show competition across the country. Such discussions included Equine Canada's new competition structure that was introduced in 2008, competitor license fees, horse passports and official tracking systems. Equine Canada's reorganizational chart was introduced and service agreements to the Provinces were initiated. New programs for young riders were also presented.
The CEO of Equine Canada, Akaash Maharaj also took part in the meetings, bringing a wealth of knowledge, not only in his official capacity but also as a World Gold Medalist. His insights into the world of competition certainly added tremendous value to the group's discussions.
This was the first time Equine Canada Officials have met on PEI and Island Horse Council was pleased to have hosted this event.
