Canadian Cowgirls Coming to P.E.I.
The Canadian Cowgirls are coming here to PEI for a leisure trip in between shows. They are in Fredericton with the CanAM on May 22, 23, 24 they will be here in PEI on May 25, 26, 27 (for leisure) and leaving for their show in Windsor on May 28 for the show May 29, 30, 31.
The schedule is as follows:
May 25th arriving in PEI - we have a boat trip planned, going to sail out a short piece and haul a few lobster traps for the experience of Lobster fishing. We have a small gathering planned that evening with a barbeque/lobster boil with the IHC Chair - Chester Gillan, the Kensington Havest Festival Manager - Robert Wood, and a few others that have helped make this happen.
May 26th - Visiting the Anne of Green Gables Museum then Trail Riding from the beach in Yankee Hill (with a history of Yankee Hill) up the cape to the Cape Tryon Lighthouse (with a history of Cape Tryon Lighthouse) down a service road, then accross some field passing by the Anne of Green Gables Museum and traveling around the Lake of Shinning Waters to Cousins' shore for a trail ride up the beach. (What more PEI culture could you ask for then up the Cape Coast of PEI with all the fishing boats out fishing to one of PEI fabulous light houses with a beach ride to finish it off!)
May 26th - 6 - 8pm a meet and greet the Canadian Cowgirls at Sunnybrook Farms in Summerside.
May 27th - Trail Riding the trails at Brookvale Ski Park
There are 13 girls in total and they are bringing with them 8 horses, a huge thank-you to:
Kimball and Julie Johnston at the Rowdy Ranch for housing all of them plus their horses
Beck Donald and Sunnybrook Farms - For the lend of her horse & tack and the wonderful ideas and the help in making this a success
Susan MacDonald - For the lend of her hose and tack
Barry MacMillan - For the lend of his horse and his trailering expertise
Cecil Thomas - For the use of his horse and his trailering expertise
Angie MacDonald and Hi-Time Tack for the help in making this happen
George Campbell and the people of Anne of Green Gables Museum for working in conjunction with us and allowing us to use their carriage route .
Jill Cameron for all of her help in making this a success & Kim Saville for their help with the meal & entertaining.
Chester for coming out to the meet and greet and for helping with the trail ride at Brookvale.
And most of all a huge thank-you to Jesse McCrady for bringing this whole adventure to my attention and graciously handing this over to me.
